Mission Oh Mission

Hey Family,

Transfers is tomorrow..I hate transfers ๐Ÿ˜ญ My companion is leaving and most of the people in my district are leaving as well. It sucks, I absolutely hate it haha. The new guy that's coming sounds like super awesome and President told me that we are going to get along well. He said he is one of the best missionaries in the mission...but I think he says that about everyone haha. So I'm going to be having two district leader companions in a row.

Congratulations on your new calling mom (Scout leader of the 8-9 year olds). I thought the scouting program was going to be stopped?! What the news on that. I think one of things I miss is hearing about news and what was going on. It's wired because we are still out and about everyday but we are so secluded from the world at the same time. But it's nice because it really helps stay focused on our purpose.

It's sounds like the family is keeping busy as well. How are you liking your new job mom?! That cool you and dad went to an Alex Boye concert at the college.  He isn't my favorite singer in the world haha. I can't listen to that man lol.

The weather is changing fast. I don't really know if I like it though. It only gets down to the 60's but it's so cold. I have heard the humidity cold is a lot different than dry cold. I'm not to trilled about it. But the trees are sure beautiful and it's mostly green right now but they are starting to change colors. I'm exited for that as well.

Mission oh mission. This week was kind of challenging I guess. A lot of appointments fell through and sometimes I just don't know how to handle that. I tend to break down a little bit. Beginning  of
this week, I made it my goal to be a ๐Ÿ’ฏ present consecrated missionary and made sure that I gave it all I had everyday. But I'm just learning that sometimes it's not my will. I just don't.

Yesterday I biked so much trying to gather everyone to come to church and after church
for a fireside. It just didn't seem to pay off at all. Only on family came. They don't know but it just breaks my heart sometimes to know how our message could bless their lives so much but
they are ignorant at times.

On the good side I guess. I had two exchanges this week. One with the zone leaders. And the other with some of the elders in our district. I really had a lot of fun and specially the one in our district. They were struggling with extending a baptismal date with their investigators. I was able to help them out with that and we got 3 dates that day and it just made my day.

Sarah would like s picture of us when we went to the temple. If you could share that with my on iCloud it would be nice. Thanks and love you guys hope you have a blessed week.

Thank you for the sweaters mom.❤️
I'm so exited for general conference it's going to be a crazy one.

Love,
Mesafint

Donations

Hello,

This is just a quick note for those who have asked about donating to Mesafint's and Mubarek's mission funds.  You can donate through the your LDS account with the online donation form. Our Archer ward account number is 23264.  You can select Mesafint or Mubarek name from a drop down list.  Thank you for your kindness in preparing our boys to serve missions and for any help with the financial side of having two missionaries out.

Thanks,
Alyssa

I cherish every day

Family,
I'm glad you got my patriarchal blessing! It's amazing because every time I read it, I find something new. I am sure I will take good care of my parents. (His blessing mentioned he needed to take care of his parents in their old age.)

My favorite scripture is 2 nephi 25:26.

I thought I was the only one that liked going to the ER haha guess not.v(Gutama broke his finger this week and may need surgery.)

I'm glad you guys were able to attend Chaltu's farewell! And I'm sure it was good talk. Charity is one of my favorite words and it means a lot to me to have charity to gain charity. The pure love of Christ.
(Chaltu was adopted from the same orphange as Mesafint.  She will be serving in the Acadia California mission.)

I think I'm ready for my winter stuff. At least some sweaters haha I just got a hair cut and it doesn't make it any better haha.

Deciding to go on a mission was the hardest and most difficult thing I had to do. And it's been the most hardest time in my life. It's also been the happiest time of my life. I cherish every day and look back and the hand of the Lord and what he has done for me.

This week was super awesome! It was really short but I enjoyed it. We went to the Bats baseball museum on Monday. We checked out the place and we had a lot of fun! I bought Conners mom a bat and sent it to her. Afterwards we went home and we had  a couple of lessons that day!

Tuesday was also great. We had a lot of referrals we had to go visit. We set up a return appointment! We went and visited sister Holmen. She is going through a rough time right now and she had just had some surgeries. So she is not doing so hot. She asked me for a blessing and I gave her one and it was super nice to exercise my priesthood duty! I always look forward to using it the best of my ability and stay worthy of it also.

Wednesday we did service for half of the day! I love service haha it's so much fun. There is a lady called Heather.  She loves the missionaries but she just won't accept the gospel. She won't even expet a Book of Mormon. So I had a really good talk with her and after a long time of talking I convinced her to take a book! I was sure happy๐Ÿ˜€. Afterwards we had an exchange and I was with elder James. He is very smart and taught me a lot of stuff. We worked hard and we had a good time.

The highlight of Thursday was Sarah and Prince! We just have been teaching her for the last two months and we finally started teaching him!!! He is super awesome and he likes the standards of the church. But how could you not?  It's impossible not to like this church haha. Anyways he has a baptismal date and Sarah as well. And we are trying to get them married as soon as possible.

Friday was so freaking cooooool.. The stake does this thing where all the youths get a mission call and all the missionaries that are close but get to attend it too. It lasts two days and the kids do everything we do.  They get up 6:30, have a workout, get ready shower, personal study, and companionship study as well.  The next day the mission president came and gives all a training and we eat lunch.  Than we go out and teach the true gospel!!! It was for young men and women.  It was super fun. I had two young men with me. It started Friday and it got over Sunday morning!

Sunday we had a sweet sacrament meeting. My companion got up and sang. He was so good and the spirit was there. I love it! I learned a lot. After church we had couple of lessons and we ended the day with Sarah's dinner! It was super good and she fed me way to mcuh! I enjoyed myself and had a good time.

A lot of good stuff is happening! I'm probably going to stay in the same area but I will definitely get a new companion next week. My companion right now has been here for a while and he has only two more transfers left so he is leaving.

Love you guys and hope everyone is doing good. There is videos the church put on its the 12 step videos. I feel like they could help anyone with addictions out a lot. Anyways keep y'all in my prayers and hope you a blessed week!

I beseech each of you

Hello hello
How is y'all doin???
I had another great week! Kentucky does me good.. The weather has been crazy cold haha it got down to the 60's this week๐Ÿ˜Ÿ I guess you can say winter is here haha. I think winter here is a lot different than rexburg because of the humidity. So it's been a very chilly week๐Ÿ˜Š
My week started out with going to the bats game with a member that loves baseball. I sure got into it haha. Never thought I would say this, but baseball is actually very cool. Following that we had couple member present lessons that night. It's always really good to have members there, it helps get the spirit there a lot easier. And their testimonies are very powerful.
Tuesday.... Was sure an awesome day๐Ÿ˜Š our mission president was able to come teach once again with us. We taught Felicia, we thought her baptism and confirmation and some of the commandments! She soaked it in and loved all of it! She said she felt a lot better about her baptismal date after that lesson. We were able to bear our testimonies and make her feel good about the decision to get baptized! And we ended our day doing service for some in-actives.
Wednesday... We always begin that day with service!!! I love doing service and serving others, makes me feel closer to my Heavenly Father and teaches me a lot of things and helps me gain charity! After that we had a lesson with slyvia she is super awesome. We have taught  her ever since I have been here. She is sure stubborn haha and she loves the church she goes too. But anyways we had a lesson with her about temples and family's being with each other for time eternity. She really liked it and she said she wants nothing more than being with her family forever. It was sure awesome๐Ÿ˜Š. That was the highlight of that day haha.
Thursday... We had our district meeting! I love district meetings. It always helps out with investigators and missionaries help each other out with investigators concerns and problems. After we were done with that we had an exchange! I went on exchange with Elder field. He had only been out 4 weeks so I was the senior companion๐Ÿ˜€๐Ÿ˜Œ๐Ÿ˜Ž๐Ÿ’ฃ๐Ÿ’ฏ. I made sure we worked really hard and we had a lot of fun. That afternoon we had a bible bash haha. I hate having bible bashes. They are so worthless and the spirit is just never there. But most of the people have the same problems so I'm learning how to bash real fast haha.
Friday... I loved Friday haha. Friday was the answer to a lot of my prayers. The highlight of that day was the lesson we had with Sarah! We talked a lot about her baptism and how she felt ever since. She told me that she is different and she talked different. She reacts to things differently than normal. She said that she sleeps like a baby and her testimony has just grown so much. I can just the see the spirit radiating off her! And she shared her testimony with me. It sure changed me and my mission. She gave me a whole different perspective of mission and I don't know it's just hard to explain the experience. It was definitely one for the books haha whatever that means.
Saturday and Sunday... Not a lot of crazy things happened but. We had a lot of referrals we contacted and we had a lot of lessons and were able to meet a lot people. We are normally so busy that we can't fit them in. But it was super great and I loved a lot of it and got feed a lot of wired stuff haha. Some I wished I never had haha. But we had a lot of good moments to share our testimonies. And it was super super good.
I had some awesome opportunities to share my testimony of the truthfulness of the gospel of Jesus Christ. I learned each of our testimonies can aid someone. Someone who is in much need of that aid. I know that the work of salvation is the most important work under the heavens and we each have our part which Heavenly Father needs us to play. I beseech each of you to pray earnestly for the opportunity to share what you know with someone. I testify that as you do, your spirit will be renewed, and you will find new purpose. And your testimony will grow. And you will be an effective instrument of the gospel. I love my savior Jesus Christ!! I love this gospel. It's simple, but yet so powerful. It's not easy being a member of this church but yet it's so rewarding. I know testimonies are important and can help others as we share it.  Be looking for a mail๐Ÿ˜Š
One last thing. I'm so happy to hear about the kids doing so great! I never really knew how much of an influence I can be to them. It encourages me to work harder and it looks like my hard work is paying of. I love hearing about they are liking the gospel! I hope they learn to love it more and it sure is the best thing! I might be going to the temple next Monday so if I don't email you back that day, that why.. I would just email you on Wednesday. But It's not a for sure thing.
Chicken feet is sure super good oh and cow tails๐Ÿ˜‹๐Ÿ˜Œ

Texting and Biking

Hows everybody doing this great week?

Well this past week was incredibly busy for Elder Fleener and I this past
week and like holy cow, it felt like we were literally going from
appointment to appointment, meeting to meeting. We saw some great miracles
this week as well and its amazing to see the Lord bless us immensely!!

Tuesday- we had zone conference. It was absolutely awesome. And it its always fun to see other missionaries in the mission. I love getting trained and it makes the work fun.and so much easier and makes it go by faster. My trainer is the district leader so I get to go to a lot of different meetings haha.
Wednesday- we had another great day! We were able to get blessed with couple of lessons! One of them was with one of our recent converts Sarah! She is only been a member one week and she keeps on impressing me every-time I go over there.
Thursday- was a super fun day we had couple lessons! And one of our members took us out to eat. And after wards we were able to go visit some less actives. It was good to hear some of their stories, and why they went inactive. So we were able to bare some powerful testimonies and the spirit was super strong. It helped a lot. Afterwards we got some flat tires haha. Those are always fun... A lot of walking but we get to talk to a lot of people on the walk back home.
Friday- Friday was a good day but it definitely could have gone better haha. We thought we had couple soiled lessons set, but all of them fell through ๐Ÿ˜ญ๐Ÿ˜ญ๐Ÿ˜ญ. It's like you have a cake that looks super good and just amazing. And you want to share it with people, because you love them and you care about them.. And you know if they take a piece of that cake it would make all the difference in their life's, but they are not willing to do it. and it can be super frustrating at times but all you can do it just pray for them and keep loving them... And my MTC companion went home this week๐Ÿ˜ญ and that has been really hard as well.
Saturday- Saturday was quiet interesting day for me haha.. Earlier that day, we had a member take us out to eat and we were in downtown eating lunch.. And apparently there was bunch of women protesting about making it okay for me women to walk shirtless whenever they  want and wherever they want.. So they walking down the street about 800 hundred women out there completely topless. Thankfully the member saw it coming and told us to go to the rest room so we were able to avoid all of it!! "KENTUCKY IS WIRED" It's just sad how people get focused on things that don't really matter. There is a lot going in the world but people get sidetracked easily haha.
Sunday- it was an awesome day๐Ÿ˜€๐Ÿ˜ƒ we got out off our apartment early and got all our investigators up and ready for church and they all came so that was such a good blessings for me! Sarah got up and gave her testimony! It was so awesome and I could just see and feel the spirit radiating off her. She is so awesome and teaches me how to be a better person everyday.
We were able to have a lot of lessons and I got to give a blessing to one of our members! We had so much going on that we didn't even break our fast until 8 o'clock haha. I love my mission.
Love you all and hope the school and work life is treating you well!
Thank you all and I love yall and I hope yall have a blessed week!! And I was able to use grandma hill in one of my lessons.. It was one of the most spiritual lessons yet! So tell her hi and that I love her!

Ps I think the hardest thing on my mission so far is texting and biking๐Ÿ˜‚ I ran into a telephone pole this week haha.

Mormons are cool๐Ÿ˜€
