I absolutely love missionary work

Dead momma
It was so fun to talk to y'all as well. I feel so blessed and honored to be part of such an amazing family. I have never appreciated having such a good family until I got out on my mission. And plus every missionary is amazed with how young my parents are.. And they always freak out. It just helps me realize how much you and dad really sacrifice for me and my brothers and sister to have the life that we do. I pray for you well being everyday and pray that you guys all strive to be more like our father in heaven. It's been such a blessing to me know that I can be with my family forever. And I have a strong faith that we will make it. As long as we live worthy and live a heavenly life. As I was reading my scriptures these morning I came across a verse that really struck me.. It was in Matthew and it says.. Pray for them that despitefully persecute you. And I looked back in my life and just kinda of wondered when that has ever happened to me?.. And its been the last couple months.. Since I have been out on my mission. It's been a good learing experience for me. Even though I don't always get treated the way I would like to be.. But praying for those people has made my mission. Praying for love, charity the fountain of all righteousness. I hope that we all pray for those that don't always treat us right. I love you guys and thank you for all you do for me. Always there to support and strengthen me. And help my testimony grow. I sure am glad that we got to talk on the phone. I love the serving the lord. I absolutely love missionary work and I love being a missionary. I feel so blessed and honored to work and help the lost ones come unto Christ. in these part of the vineyard. I hope you guys have a wonderful week!! Love y'all

People Progressing

Hello

   Hey!
I had such an amazing week! We had such a good weather and it
made biking a lot more delightful. I'm really loving the area I'm in
now and the people I get to serve. We just had transfer calls these
week and it sounds like me and elder crow are going to be staying
together for another transfer so we are super happy about that and
exited to make the best of it.
We had a sweet Christmas devotional yesterday and we had some
people come that weren't members of the church. It was really cool to
see how outgoing our members were and making them feel so welcomed. I
love the members. They do a lot of missionary work and I just feel so
blessed to bed serving in these ward.
Nakia and Melissa are doing so well. We had them come to church
these Sunday again and they came to the Christmas devotional after
church as well. They absolutely loved it and again the members just
welcomed and invited them over for dinner for these week. So we are
super happy about that. And we are looking forward too their baptism
in two weeks. They are so exited to be baptized the day after
Christmas and it will forever be something they will remember.
We have been working with a lot of other investigators. And we have
been working super hard to build their desires and helping them
understand why it's so important to read the Book of Mormon. And why
it's so important to come to church, pray etc.. So far so good we have
couple of people progressing. I'm super happy and I love it haha.
The Eriksons sent a package these week and I don't even know
what to do for them haha. Maybe I will just send a Christmas card or
something I don't know.. Anyways I'm really really loving my mission
and the people I associate with everyday. I feel at home in these ward
and the people are just so nice. I hope you guys are having the best
time of the year. Cade says it's been snowing a lot and there was a
lot of car recks.. I guess that's pretty cool.
I'm super thankful for all you guys do! I was hoping you could
thank sister Gwen for me. And everyone else haha. It's hard to write
everyone back because we just don't have a lot of time. And Christmas
call is soon so that would be like the best present ever for me.
Anyways I love you guys and thank you for all the support and
everything else you do. Have a blessed week!!

Gospel love.

Biggest Highlights of My Week

I was blessed to have an awesome week. I had so many opportunities to serve and to love. The weather here is really cold haha. It's been down to the 40's but we have been handling it well. And my companion is doing awesome as well. Sometimes being open and upfront with someone is just what they need. He is a really good kid and loves to learn how to do missionary work. And I love working with him. And I give him a lot of crap haha. I can't do it to no one else... Damitu isn't here haha.
We have been blessed with so many people to teach and I can't be thankful enough. We have been working with Melissa and nakia they are both in their 20's and love the gospel already. They are both working very hard to meet the requirements for baptizims. They even remember there dates and everything and we haven't had any problems with them not keeping commitments. They came to church yesterday and they loved it. The members just took them in made them feel so welcomed. Everyone was so out going. They had a lot of questions answered and felt the spirit as well. It sure made my week ๐Ÿ˜Š
Joe,sherry~ these two are couples we have Been working with and they both are awesome as well. We had to move their babtizmal dates because they weren't able to make it to church. Because of some kind of sickness they had. But they are working hard to overcome there habits of smoking and trying to get married so they can get baptized. I feel very fortunate and so blessed to be able to work with such amazing people.
Naja,Norien~ are two brothers we have been working with as well. They are part member family as well. Their mother is a less active and has been for along time due to work. But she has been trying to come to church as well. Naja is 15 years old and Norien is 16. And she wants them both to take the lessons and get baptized so have been working with them as well. They are both exited to get baptized as well. I'm super exited to see them get baptized and make the covenant that's going to Bering them closer to their Heavenly Father.
Chris~ is a very humble man that's so willing to change who he is, and just his whole life. He had a drinking problem for over 5 years and since we have been working with him he has quit drinking for about 20 days now. He has been reading the Book of Mormon a lot and trying to find an answer so he can get get baptized as well. It's truly remarkable how you can put these gospel in anyone's life and it can work for them. And if it doesn't they must be doing something wrong.
Josh sweazy~ is a man who has been looking for a change for a long time. He has a concern for the longest time. that God doesn't answer his prayers or that maybe he just doesn't exist. He doesn't know if the bible is true or any church for that matter. But we taught him the first lesson and he was in tears. We were blessed enough to answer his question, concerns and Addressed his needs. I'm so thankful.
Anyways those are some of my biggest highlights of my week. I get humbled everyday and I feel my saviors hand in my life so much and I'm so great full. I hope everyone of you is really thinking about what the savior has done for you and how the atonement applies to each of you. It's my favorite time of the year and there is not even any snow here haha. We still have green grass and it blows my mind haha.
And I was just being funny!! To be completely honest.. Going and getting Christmas trees with you and working at the store with dad was some my fondest memories. I wouldn't trade those for anything. It wasn't the thanksgiving dinner that I missed this year but going and getting a tree and I even told my companion about it haha. I always sounded like I didn't want to go but I always ended up loving it.
Yes you can send it too the members home. 1603 Knob Hill Rd
Elizabethtown, Kentucky 42701-9175 and their names are Byrnes, LeGrande Richard & Stephanie Thea. He is my ward mission leader and I will be calling you from his home on Christmas as well. Haha it's so wired how fast time goes by.  I prepared something you and or even the hill family can do together. It's about the Book of Mormon. I highlighted couple things and took a picture of it so you can use that. And I got some scriptures you can read as well at the end of introducing the Book of Mormon then use the scriptures. Moroni 10:32-33
Commitment~ read the Book of Mormon, ponder in your hearts the message it contains. Then ask God if the Book of Mormon is true.
Let me know how it goes. I will share the pictures with you. I promise you these will change the way you view the Book of Mormon. It's truly remarkable. I love it. I just finished it again and I started again today. It's my life haha. I love you and I hope you have the best week of your life๐Ÿ’™

Happy Thanksgiving

 I had a wonderful thanksgiving.

You have no idea how much I freak out when j meet someone from Idaho. Oh you are from Zion!! You must be awesome haha.

My was week was so blessed. I finally figured the area out. And my companion and I had a talk and figured things out as well. We have a lot of fun doing missionary work. He is a really good kid. And I feel blessed to work with him. These week we were blessed with 6 bab dates. All of them are pretty solid as well. These area has been mistreated when it comes to baptizims. And I'm so happy that I can be here and work these area. I assume I'm going to be here for about 4 transfers.

Christmas gifts yes.. I have been working on my make it gift for you haha. And I already bought the buy it gift as well. I'm on top of the game these year mom. The only thing left is to wrap and send it but I just don't have the money for that haha. And it's really wired that I will Skype in like less than a month. I don't even what to think about that haha.

Thanks giving was fabulous. We got fed by a family in our ward and then the brimhalls fed as well. I really need to know what your favorite scripture is mom. Oh and you probably herd about southern hospitality means haha. Families get pretty offended when you don't write them back haha. They keep telling me your mom needs to be more chill and talk to us haha. And I tell them you are I'm trying my best lol.

I'm super thankful for all y'all. I love my family. I'm super thankful to be a missionary. I love being a missionary haha. These week we had interview these week. And I loved talking to my mission president. And his wife is so nice as well. I feel at home whenever I talk with them haha. I love the members here and they actually all like missionary work as well haha. I love you and I hope you have a great week.

Christmas Gift

Hey mom.

It's been quite a week for me. As sad j was to leave my first area, I'm also loving my new area. Nothing like my last area though. These week was mind blowing for me. Anyways my new area is in Elizabeth Kentucky. It's a beautiful little town. It's south of my last area. My new companion is Elder crow. He is from Washington state. He is only been out 3 months so I have to be the senior companion and be more responsible haha.

The area is very different. Not a whole lot of people to talk to on the street and it is just a lot of rich people. And the answer to every contact seems like "no thank you I'm a southern baptist" so I'm learning a whole new way to do my missionary work. We don't have a whole lot of investigators as well. This area almost got white washed so I guess they didn't a very good job... But I'm super happy I can be here ๐Ÿ˜Š the members are very awesome and super happy about missionary work. Witch I'm very happy about.

As far as me and my companion goes we are very different haha. I think I annoy him sometimes because, I'm singing hymns super loud while we bike and it's embarrassing to him.. And he is a very shy person and doesn't like how bold I'm with people. But we are working on it. He seems to feel very inadequate everyday and he is always wanting a blessing... So if you know of anything that can help please let me know!

Anyways in these past week my testimony for my savior as grown immensely. I'm learning to rely on him. My love to serve grows more each day as I consecrate myself to the work of the lord. I had an amazing experience this week with contacting. We had tracked for along time and every door we knocked either they were mean or they just told us they have no interest. So feeling really sad we left the neighborhood and we were biking and we say a man siting on a mother cycle so went up to him and started talking and we went back and compared the Book of Mormon and the bible and bashed a little and I just had enough so we told him goodbye and we started riding again.... Couple minutes later we had a feeling that we should go back so we did. And he was gone but there was a lady named Lina. She was awesome! We taught the first lesson right there and invited her to be baptized on the 15 of December. She expected and came to church the next day as well. It so cool.

I'm proud of you haha. Biking is really fun. My legs are gonna be coded with steel when I come home haha. A lot of hills in these area a lot. I have been eating super healthy tho very healthy haha I have some pictures I will share with you. Bike problems are starting to die down so that is good! Christmas gift for me would be find someone that doesn't have the gospel in there lives and share with them your testimony and maybe even introduce them to the missionaries.
I love you guys and I hope you have a splendid week.

The Book of Mormon is the proof

It's been such a great week and sad at the same time. yes koffi got baptized! let me tell you a little about that haha! so Saturday we had just gotten done teaching brenda and we get a phone call from president saying that im getting transferred so i was really sad about that... and i get another phone call from koffi saying his mom changed her mind and he wont be getting baptized anymore.. so i was really sad be this point!! and we were like in the heart part of the area and we didn't know if we should pray right there or not but was really didn't have any choice by then so we just knelt down and prayed.  so we biked very fast over to his house and talked with his mom. and the only thing that could change her mind we like was, if we brought the spirit in the home. so we taught the Restoration. and she started crying it was really wired. she said that she has been trying to avoid the church for along time. so we had an amazing powerful lesson with her. she let him get baptized and she said she will never miss church again. and she came to his baptizim and church and she will be coming again next week! and we are teaching her all the lesson again.

so i have been really sad about leaving my first area!!! I made so many good friends with investigators and members. it was really sad saying bye on Sunday!    and i had a lot of tie exchanges with the members and now im left with the ugliest ties haha. but its okay! and i heard about mubareks thing! im so happy for him. and i so thankful we have a sight to go visit. i love this church. a lot people come to me ask me"show me evidence church is true" its really sad. and the evidence is the book of Mormon. its the keystone of our religion. but what i like tell people is that we walk by faith and not by evidence. but if they really want one then i give them a book of Mormon.

and i heard about the gay thing. i support the brethren. im sure the lord knows what he is doing. and tofiks talk was so wonderful.it truly meant alot to me! i can tell that he is changing and becoming the lord would have him be. seeing changes like that is what makes me want to change myself. it makes stop and realize what im doing. the atonement can change anyone thats wiling to use it. and i pray everyday that my family will be blessed according to my obedience. its a good motivator:)

my plan for thanks giving is to eat. haha jk i really don't know haha. i hate transfers. brother wadsworth from my ward says that he willing to come pick me up from my next area for thanks giving but i doubt my mission president will allow that. but im exited for my next area. and i will get to come back next week for antonio and brenda's baptizim.

anyways i had a good week! thank you so much for your loving advice. you guys mean the world to me! i love you guys! thank you for your support! i hope you guys have a great week!

I Have Never Been so Happy

I had a really good week! I'm happy๐Ÿ˜Š and yes I bought a coat! I have some money left so I'm going to be buy a rain jacket! And I know it's sad but the lord prepares them when he wants to. And yes oh my gosh! We have been so blessed! We are teaching a lot of people! I think we are going to be blessed with. Baptizim every week these month.
Kofie!!!! Our fasting and none stop prayer payed off!! We went with a member last night to her home, and she let us in and she was so nice. She told us that it's not her choice, it's his. She said that if that is what he wants I guess I will support him. Good enough for me๐Ÿ˜€ so he is super exited! He is getting baptized this coming Saturday. I think we are going to have a member that's close to him baptize him.  Blessing.
Antonio! He is doing amazing. He came to church and met everyone and he himself invited people to his baptism haha. He loves attaion haha. But he is great. He is progressing and reading the scriptures often. It's been nice for him to date a member and it helps us a lot. She reads the scriptures to him and they read together. It's cute haha.
Brenda! She is so awesome! She is trying her best to not break the word of wisdom. She is trying so hard. She is addicted to coffee and she gets a lot of headaches. But she calls me anytime she gets  the urge to smoke or drink. She is great haha. She called us 3 times last night. I guess I can't complain.
We got some more bab dates and we are working our hardest to get them to progress. Most of them struggle with Joseph smith but they will get over it hopefully. They are doing great. We have been getting a lot of help from our fellow members. With ride and with coming to lessons with us.
I have never been so happy. I feel greater love for my Heavenly Father everyday. Serving a mission is probably the best decision I have ever made. I'm so thankful for my saviors atoning sacrifice. We also had a great fast and testimony meeting these week. The spirit was felt. I love the members. It's been such a blessing being able to work with them.
I got talked in two playing a board game haha. And yes I ended up loving it haha. We played monopoly and man I think it's my favorite game yet. Anyways I love you guys. My favorite family alive. Stay out of trouble and love you๐Ÿ’™

Gospel love.

If an Ethiopian Orthodox becomes a Mormon

Yes I was so blessed haha. Brenda loves church. (The lady that was super depressed and considered ending her life.) And yes me and my companion teach most if the time. There is supposed to be a teacher in their but he is never their so we get to teach it.
Oh man I'm so glad that you guys finally responded to her (Sarah the lady he baptized has been writing facebook messgaes to Wes and I) messages haha. She bugs me so much it and keeps saying they are messaging me back haha. She is sure awesome she found two referrals this week. She keeps amazing me everyday haha.
We had stake conference this week. First one on my mission and man who would have ever thought they were awesome haha. I loved it. We are blessed with such an awesome stake president. He loves missionary work. He drives an hour to come take us out for lunch. I love him.
Antonio is doing so well. We had a lesson with him about the law of chastity and the word of wisdom. He said it's super easy and he has lived both of them his whole life. We are still working on humbling him a bit. But we are great full for him I guess haha.
The atak's are a family we found this week. They are from South Sudan and the husband had lived in Ethiopia for 9 years. We contacted him he said he hates Mormons and told us to get of his door steps. Then I asked him if he was from Sudan and he said yes and he immediately asked me if I was from Ethiopia and I was like YES! He came and gave me a hug brought us inside his house and fed us. And we met his family "big family" and he said if an Ethiopian orthodox becomes a Mormon it must be true. So they came to church and they came to our once a month fireside and loved it. The asked to go bare my testimony so I did. I love it!!! I feel so blessed.
Tanya is doing well. She is so humble. She wants to get baptized badly and she knows the church is true. She is very ill and he kidneys are felling so we have been praying a lot. We have been blessed beyond measure. We are going to have a big month next month.
Koffi's  doing so good. The only thing holding back from getting baptized is his mom so we have praying so hard that he heart will Change. We called her and we have an appointment with her tomorrow.
Sarah and prince. We dropped them. They are just not ready to make this changes. It broke my heart because I worked so hard for this. We found them earlier this summer. And they live far from us and we biked so hard to get there in the hot humid summer and we got no fruit of our labor on that. It just really broke my heart.
But I'm glad to here all of you guys are doing so well. You guys mean the world to me. Each time I see a family here or just anyone and see how they live their lives, it humbles me and reminds me of the things I have so been blessed with. Just by having the gospel in the home makes such a huge difference. I was reading some things for he general conference. It was from one of the new apostles. He something along the line of he never doubted the church. And that he always new the church was true. I think it's the same with me. I hit some rough bumps and went through some stuff lost my testimony. But I never forgot who my Heavenly Father was and I always knew the church was true. I love this gospel with all my heart. The work of salvation has given me the happiness I never had. I'm so thankful for my saviors atoning sacrifice.

 Gospel love.

Missionaries Say I'm Pregnant

Dear Family,

I'm glad that you guys enjoyed the story about Brenda. I was so thankful that the Lord would bless me and my companion with that experience. She made it to church again this week. And I couldn't get her to stop crying during sacrament meeting. She loved and felt the spirit. She knows the church is true. I was pretty happy. I loved church as well. This week in gospel principles class I and my companion taught eternal marriage. My whole idea of marriage is changed haha.

Antonio is doing wonderful. We taught him the plan of salvation. He loved it. It's pretty amazing how God would love us enough that he wouldn't let us live and wonder in darkness, not knowing what life is about. But instead he blesses us with with a clear knowledge. I feel blessed for knowing and living the plan. We told Antonio that he can be with his wife forever and he was amazed. He went and did a lot of research on temples and surprised us with a lot of stuff on Sunday haha.

Koffi is such a blessing. He is awesome he loves the gospel. And we wants his family to be part of it as well. So we have been teaching him a lot. But his mom doesn't quite want him to get baptized. She doesn't know a whole lot about the church. So we have been praying unceasingly for it to happen. He attends mutual and a lot of church activities as well. He is a great kid.

Linda is such an awesome investigator as well she has been trying her best to try to read the Book of Mormon. She struggles a lot with being able to read so we have been reading a lot. She is awesome and she has an awesome testimony. We are hoping to baptize her.

Sarah and prince are awesome and they are trying their best to better themselves and change the lifestyle they live. It's been hard for them to change but they are working on it. We love them.

Anyways we have had a sweet week. We had zone conference and it was awesome. I saw a lot of missionaries haha. I learned a lot and we got trained on working with members and trying to get more member referrals. Oh and a lot of missionary keep telling me that I'm pregnant haha... And I guess that means they think I will train next transfer but I highly doubt it haha.

After zone conference I went on exchange with Elder Holley he is a great missionary. We found 3 new awesome investigators. And they all of bab dates. It was sweet haha. Last time I went with them, we found this kid named Bryon he is awesome. He seemed really depressed and lonely. But they have been teaching him and he has changed so much. It's crazy how the gospel can change you. It changed me.

Anyways thank you guys and I love you. The trees here beautiful. But it's been so cold. It got down to 34 this week. Winter is here haha. Have a blessed week.

My challenge for you this week is to read alma 5. Ponderizing for is alma 5:26

One more thing...I met someone this week that was addicted to baby powder and she eats 2 bottles of it everyday... ๐Ÿ˜ณ

The Lord Trusted Me

Hey Family,

I had a wonderful week! Me and my companion are a lot alike. I was blessed with so many wonderful blessings this week. Blessings I can never forget. Earlier in my mission, I made a promise with my Heavenly Father that he can trust me enough to put anyone in my path and I will talk to them. And that meant I had to talk to everyone I saw. So the lord trusted me enough to put Brenda in our path this week. As we were pedaling fast to get our appointment, there was a lady sitting on a bench waiting for the bus. And we passed her, I had a very strong feeling that I needed to turn around. So I did and my companion followed me and we talked with her and set a return appointment. The next day we went her house and she was just leaving her house to go get some beer. I asked her, "why do you drink beer?" She said, "I hate it and I hate myself for doing it. But I have decided that today is my last day and I'm going to get drunk and take away my life." I was very saddened and we sat her down and used the teaching skills that we memorized, we said all the points back and forth and when we finished, we stopped and listened to the spirit and she started crying and she couldn't stop. We explained what the feeling she had was and taught her the first lesson very simply but powerfully. At the end of the lesson we extended a bab date and it's for November 7 and guess what?? It's her birthday day and her mothers birthday. We didn't know there was anything special about this day but we prayed and felt good about it. I love it. I was humbled and felt the love Christ has for all his children and he was loving enough to have me help her and have me open my mouth.

Another awesome thing that happened this week was Antonio! He is a collage student and very awesome kid. He loves Christ and strictly obeys the 10 commandments. He has had couple opportunities to look up our church before and he likes our standards. Anyways we had the first lesson with him and, he has a baptismal date for November 14th. He is super exited and he marked it on his phone haha. And we found him on the street walking as well. I'm having so many good experiences.

Prince and Sarah are finally thinking about getting married. I have been waiting for them to say that for the last 3 months. He really wants to get baptized and I really want him to get baptized as well. They seem to be progressing tho! But I know they will be baptized soon. It will require a lot of work on our part but that is what we are here for.

I absolutely love my area and the people. Even though it's really gettho haha. I went to Lexington Kentucky this weekend for the whole day! And I missed my area haha. It was an awesome day tho! I didn't get the chance to take some pictures of the trees for y'all but man. They are beautiful! The colors are changing as well.

Sunday was awesome! I have really been trying to prepare myself to take the sacrament. And just trying to focus on the importance of the sabbath day and been trying to understand the doctrine behind it.  The primary got up and preformed! I felt the spirit so strongly. They did so good. One of the things that makes me sad is, the missionaries here when they get asked if they were born in the church, they say they are and they are not very proud of that. I think to myself how wonderful it would be to be born in a home where the gospel is taught and you are influenced by it your whole life.

Sarah had some crazy news for me this week as well haha. She had spent the night over at her brothers house. And her brothers friend invited them and Sarah for dinner. The guy that had invited them was a Muslim and he was throwing down on Sarah for becoming a Mormon and just asking her a lot of questions and it went on until 2 o'clock in the morning she said both him and his son and her brother and his family all against her. But her faith was not shaken because she built her foundation upon a rock. I was really proud of her and she got offered a job and she wouldn't accept it because they are making her work on a Sunday... She is such a great example to me! I admire her.

My scripture for the week is D&C 121:45 I love that. My goal this transfer is to have the pure love of Christ! For everyone and to really have charity in everything I do. Thank you for sharing you thoughts and missionary stuff. I look forward to getting your emails as well and seeing what I see here while I work. And the people. It makes me appreciate what you have sacrificed to make the person I'm. I can't be thankful enough to have had the parents like you guys. Family is such a great thing and i love how we all work together to be together forever.

I love being able to say that, this is the only true church and Jesus is the Christ. No missionary work isn't easy, but man as I look at the days I have spent here it makes me appreciate what the savior does for me and puts me through things to make me a stronger person. A person he would have me be. I try to cherish every moment of the day.

I love you all and thank you for all you do for me. I hope you have a blessed week. Sorry for such along letter I just thought I should share what I felt with you. Love you again and a blessed week.

God has been spoiling us

I had another amazing week! I was blessed to have so many good learning experiences. I'm loving my new companion. Just in last couple of days he has been here, he has taught me so much. I learn something new from him everyday. His name is Elder Moyer. He is from Mesa Arizona. He is great.

I'm enjoying talking with everyone I see. The more I do it, the more I like it. I loved conference. I know as well, that God called those apostles and I sustain them with a full heart. One thing that stood out to me this week was this scripture Mosiah 28:3-4. It meant a lot to me and I saw missionary work differently and it helped gain a greater love for the work. Our area is doing super great and we are finding a lot of people to proclaim the gospel to! Teaching is coming great. With my companions help I've almost memorized the scripture word for word. I'm at the last point.

This week has been full of miracles! I saw my saviors hand almost in everything I did. Earlier this week, a thought came to my mind and it was the first time it has ever happened. As I sat down and wondered what kind of missionary I want to be and what kind of missionary would the savior have me be. I made it my goal to consecrate myself everyday and focus on this work we are all engaged in. As I did that this week it helped me out so much and the blessings were tender mercies.

Some of the highlights of the week was teaching prince and Sarah. It was a super cold day and raining at the same time with a lot of wind. I guess you can say the ride there wasn't very pleasant. We didn't have an appointment set up with them either but as soon as we got there and knocked on their door, prince opened it and gave me a hug and he said that he has his answer and that the night before he read 5 chapters and prayed with a sincere heart, with real intent having faith in Jesus Christ. Just as we told him to do so. I was so overcome by the spirit and I started crying haha. I love it haha I love all of it. He got his whole family and attended conference with us as well. I swear God has been spoiling us way to much this week๐Ÿ˜Š

We had some other great lessons as well. My favorite one was Kelly's he was a member referral. Those are the best. The family from Utah they just moved here two weeks ago and they have been married two weeks ago too haha. Anyways she is super fired about missionary work and she invited Kelly her neighbor for dinner and we went and taught him the restoration. He loved it.

I got the sweaters thank you so much.  This week was definitely the coldest. Super cold haha winter is coming. They all fit. I love you guys and thanks for all you do. I know you guys pray for me and I'm super greatful for it. Have a blessed week!!!

I stand all amazed at the love Jesus offers me.

Mission Oh Mission

Hey Family,

Transfers is tomorrow..I hate transfers ๐Ÿ˜ญ My companion is leaving and most of the people in my district are leaving as well. It sucks, I absolutely hate it haha. The new guy that's coming sounds like super awesome and President told me that we are going to get along well. He said he is one of the best missionaries in the mission...but I think he says that about everyone haha. So I'm going to be having two district leader companions in a row.

Congratulations on your new calling mom (Scout leader of the 8-9 year olds). I thought the scouting program was going to be stopped?! What the news on that. I think one of things I miss is hearing about news and what was going on. It's wired because we are still out and about everyday but we are so secluded from the world at the same time. But it's nice because it really helps stay focused on our purpose.

It's sounds like the family is keeping busy as well. How are you liking your new job mom?! That cool you and dad went to an Alex Boye concert at the college.  He isn't my favorite singer in the world haha. I can't listen to that man lol.

The weather is changing fast. I don't really know if I like it though. It only gets down to the 60's but it's so cold. I have heard the humidity cold is a lot different than dry cold. I'm not to trilled about it. But the trees are sure beautiful and it's mostly green right now but they are starting to change colors. I'm exited for that as well.

Mission oh mission. This week was kind of challenging I guess. A lot of appointments fell through and sometimes I just don't know how to handle that. I tend to break down a little bit. Beginning  of
this week, I made it my goal to be a ๐Ÿ’ฏ present consecrated missionary and made sure that I gave it all I had everyday. But I'm just learning that sometimes it's not my will. I just don't.

Yesterday I biked so much trying to gather everyone to come to church and after church
for a fireside. It just didn't seem to pay off at all. Only on family came. They don't know but it just breaks my heart sometimes to know how our message could bless their lives so much but
they are ignorant at times.

On the good side I guess. I had two exchanges this week. One with the zone leaders. And the other with some of the elders in our district. I really had a lot of fun and specially the one in our district. They were struggling with extending a baptismal date with their investigators. I was able to help them out with that and we got 3 dates that day and it just made my day.

Sarah would like s picture of us when we went to the temple. If you could share that with my on iCloud it would be nice. Thanks and love you guys hope you have a blessed week.

Thank you for the sweaters mom.❤️
I'm so exited for general conference it's going to be a crazy one.

Love,

Hello,

This is just a quick note for those who have asked about donating to Mesafint's and Mubarek's mission funds.  You can donate through the your LDS account with the online donation form. Our Archer ward account number is 23264.  You can select Mesafint or Mubarek name from a drop down list.  Thank you for your kindness in preparing our boys to serve missions and for any help with the financial side of having two missionaries out.

Thanks,
Alyssa

I cherish every day

Family,
I'm glad you got my patriarchal blessing! It's amazing because every time I read it, I find something new. I am sure I will take good care of my parents. (His blessing mentioned he needed to take care of his parents in their old age.)

My favorite scripture is 2 nephi 25:26.

I thought I was the only one that liked going to the ER haha guess not.v(Gutama broke his finger this week and may need surgery.)

I'm glad you guys were able to attend Chaltu's farewell! And I'm sure it was good talk. Charity is one of my favorite words and it means a lot to me to have charity to gain charity. The pure love of Christ.
(Chaltu was adopted from the same orphange as Mesafint.  She will be serving in the Acadia California mission.)

I think I'm ready for my winter stuff. At least some sweaters haha I just got a hair cut and it doesn't make it any better haha.

Deciding to go on a mission was the hardest and most difficult thing I had to do. And it's been the most hardest time in my life. It's also been the happiest time of my life. I cherish every day and look back and the hand of the Lord and what he has done for me.

This week was super awesome! It was really short but I enjoyed it. We went to the Bats baseball museum on Monday. We checked out the place and we had a lot of fun! I bought Conners mom a bat and sent it to her. Afterwards we went home and we had  a couple of lessons that day!

Tuesday was also great. We had a lot of referrals we had to go visit. We set up a return appointment! We went and visited sister Holmen. She is going through a rough time right now and she had just had some surgeries. So she is not doing so hot. She asked me for a blessing and I gave her one and it was super nice to exercise my priesthood duty! I always look forward to using it the best of my ability and stay worthy of it also.

Wednesday we did service for half of the day! I love service haha it's so much fun. There is a lady called Heather.  She loves the missionaries but she just won't accept the gospel. She won't even expet a Book of Mormon. So I had a really good talk with her and after a long time of talking I convinced her to take a book! I was sure happy๐Ÿ˜€. Afterwards we had an exchange and I was with elder James. He is very smart and taught me a lot of stuff. We worked hard and we had a good time.

The highlight of Thursday was Sarah and Prince! We just have been teaching her for the last two months and we finally started teaching him!!! He is super awesome and he likes the standards of the church. But how could you not?  It's impossible not to like this church haha. Anyways he has a baptismal date and Sarah as well. And we are trying to get them married as soon as possible.

Friday was so freaking cooooool.. The stake does this thing where all the youths get a mission call and all the missionaries that are close but get to attend it too. It lasts two days and the kids do everything we do.  They get up 6:30, have a workout, get ready shower, personal study, and companionship study as well.  The next day the mission president came and gives all a training and we eat lunch.  Than we go out and teach the true gospel!!! It was for young men and women.  It was super fun. I had two young men with me. It started Friday and it got over Sunday morning!

Sunday we had a sweet sacrament meeting. My companion got up and sang. He was so good and the spirit was there. I love it! I learned a lot. After church we had couple of lessons and we ended the day with Sarah's dinner! It was super good and she fed me way to mcuh! I enjoyed myself and had a good time.

A lot of good stuff is happening! I'm probably going to stay in the same area but I will definitely get a new companion next week. My companion right now has been here for a while and he has only two more transfers left so he is leaving.

Love you guys and hope everyone is doing good. There is videos the church put on its the 12 step videos. I feel like they could help anyone with addictions out a lot. Anyways keep y'all in my prayers and hope you a blessed week!

I beseech each of you

Hello hello
How is y'all doin???
I had another great week! Kentucky does me good.. The weather has been crazy cold haha it got down to the 60's this week๐Ÿ˜Ÿ I guess you can say winter is here haha. I think winter here is a lot different than rexburg because of the humidity. So it's been a very chilly week๐Ÿ˜Š
My week started out with going to the bats game with a member that loves baseball. I sure got into it haha. Never thought I would say this, but baseball is actually very cool. Following that we had couple member present lessons that night. It's always really good to have members there, it helps get the spirit there a lot easier. And their testimonies are very powerful.
Tuesday.... Was sure an awesome day๐Ÿ˜Š our mission president was able to come teach once again with us. We taught Felicia, we thought her baptism and confirmation and some of the commandments! She soaked it in and loved all of it! She said she felt a lot better about her baptismal date after that lesson. We were able to bear our testimonies and make her feel good about the decision to get baptized! And we ended our day doing service for some in-actives.
Wednesday... We always begin that day with service!!! I love doing service and serving others, makes me feel closer to my Heavenly Father and teaches me a lot of things and helps me gain charity! After that we had a lesson with slyvia she is super awesome. We have taught  her ever since I have been here. She is sure stubborn haha and she loves the church she goes too. But anyways we had a lesson with her about temples and family's being with each other for time eternity. She really liked it and she said she wants nothing more than being with her family forever. It was sure awesome๐Ÿ˜Š. That was the highlight of that day haha.
Thursday... We had our district meeting! I love district meetings. It always helps out with investigators and missionaries help each other out with investigators concerns and problems. After we were done with that we had an exchange! I went on exchange with Elder field. He had only been out 4 weeks so I was the senior companion๐Ÿ˜€๐Ÿ˜Œ๐Ÿ˜Ž๐Ÿ’ฃ๐Ÿ’ฏ. I made sure we worked really hard and we had a lot of fun. That afternoon we had a bible bash haha. I hate having bible bashes. They are so worthless and the spirit is just never there. But most of the people have the same problems so I'm learning how to bash real fast haha.
Friday... I loved Friday haha. Friday was the answer to a lot of my prayers. The highlight of that day was the lesson we had with Sarah! We talked a lot about her baptism and how she felt ever since. She told me that she is different and she talked different. She reacts to things differently than normal. She said that she sleeps like a baby and her testimony has just grown so much. I can just the see the spirit radiating off her! And she shared her testimony with me. It sure changed me and my mission. She gave me a whole different perspective of mission and I don't know it's just hard to explain the experience. It was definitely one for the books haha whatever that means.
Saturday and Sunday... Not a lot of crazy things happened but. We had a lot of referrals we contacted and we had a lot of lessons and were able to meet a lot people. We are normally so busy that we can't fit them in. But it was super great and I loved a lot of it and got feed a lot of wired stuff haha. Some I wished I never had haha. But we had a lot of good moments to share our testimonies. And it was super super good.
I had some awesome opportunities to share my testimony of the truthfulness of the gospel of Jesus Christ. I learned each of our testimonies can aid someone. Someone who is in much need of that aid. I know that the work of salvation is the most important work under the heavens and we each have our part which Heavenly Father needs us to play. I beseech each of you to pray earnestly for the opportunity to share what you know with someone. I testify that as you do, your spirit will be renewed, and you will find new purpose. And your testimony will grow. And you will be an effective instrument of the gospel. I love my savior Jesus Christ!! I love this gospel. It's simple, but yet so powerful. It's not easy being a member of this church but yet it's so rewarding. I know testimonies are important and can help others as we share it.  Be looking for a mail๐Ÿ˜Š
One last thing. I'm so happy to hear about the kids doing so great! I never really knew how much of an influence I can be to them. It encourages me to work harder and it looks like my hard work is paying of. I love hearing about they are liking the gospel! I hope they learn to love it more and it sure is the best thing! I might be going to the temple next Monday so if I don't email you back that day, that why.. I would just email you on Wednesday. But It's not a for sure thing.
Chicken feet is sure super good oh and cow tails๐Ÿ˜‹๐Ÿ˜Œ

Texting and Biking

Hows everybody doing this great week?

Well this past week was incredibly busy for Elder Fleener and I this past
week and like holy cow, it felt like we were literally going from
appointment to appointment, meeting to meeting. We saw some great miracles
this week as well and its amazing to see the Lord bless us immensely!!

Tuesday- we had zone conference. It was absolutely awesome. And it its always fun to see other missionaries in the mission. I love getting trained and it makes the work fun.and so much easier and makes it go by faster. My trainer is the district leader so I get to go to a lot of different meetings haha.
Wednesday- we had another great day! We were able to get blessed with couple of lessons! One of them was with one of our recent converts Sarah! She is only been a member one week and she keeps on impressing me every-time I go over there.
Thursday- was a super fun day we had couple lessons! And one of our members took us out to eat. And after wards we were able to go visit some less actives. It was good to hear some of their stories, and why they went inactive. So we were able to bare some powerful testimonies and the spirit was super strong. It helped a lot. Afterwards we got some flat tires haha. Those are always fun... A lot of walking but we get to talk to a lot of people on the walk back home.
Friday- Friday was a good day but it definitely could have gone better haha. We thought we had couple soiled lessons set, but all of them fell through ๐Ÿ˜ญ๐Ÿ˜ญ๐Ÿ˜ญ. It's like you have a cake that looks super good and just amazing. And you want to share it with people, because you love them and you care about them.. And you know if they take a piece of that cake it would make all the difference in their life's, but they are not willing to do it. and it can be super frustrating at times but all you can do it just pray for them and keep loving them... And my MTC companion went home this week๐Ÿ˜ญ and that has been really hard as well.
Saturday- Saturday was quiet interesting day for me haha.. Earlier that day, we had a member take us out to eat and we were in downtown eating lunch.. And apparently there was bunch of women protesting about making it okay for me women to walk shirtless whenever they  want and wherever they want.. So they walking down the street about 800 hundred women out there completely topless. Thankfully the member saw it coming and told us to go to the rest room so we were able to avoid all of it!! "KENTUCKY IS WIRED" It's just sad how people get focused on things that don't really matter. There is a lot going in the world but people get sidetracked easily haha.
Sunday- it was an awesome day๐Ÿ˜€๐Ÿ˜ƒ we got out off our apartment early and got all our investigators up and ready for church and they all came so that was such a good blessings for me! Sarah got up and gave her testimony! It was so awesome and I could just see and feel the spirit radiating off her. She is so awesome and teaches me how to be a better person everyday.
We were able to have a lot of lessons and I got to give a blessing to one of our members! We had so much going on that we didn't even break our fast until 8 o'clock haha. I love my mission.
Love you all and hope the school and work life is treating you well!
Thank you all and I love yall and I hope yall have a blessed week!! And I was able to use grandma hill in one of my lessons.. It was one of the most spiritual lessons yet! So tell her hi and that I love her!

Ps I think the hardest thing on my mission so far is texting and biking๐Ÿ˜‚ I ran into a telephone pole this week haha.

Mormons are cool๐Ÿ˜€
